admin Today im gonna document my reviews on several breast pump that i ever tried.
Eventhough i am a SAHM, i still need to express milk because :
- I am a PCOS mother, need extra extra extra stimulation to promotes milk production
- I tandem nurse my 2 babies : Arif with EBM while Aisyah is directly fed
- As a precaution in case i need to be hospitalized
- Nafsu juga…bought various pumps and then let-go when boring..huhuhu (itu jam acik kayooo..hahaha)
For this time baby, I am still considering between Mamivac Lactive Dual Pump and Medela Freestyle.
While FS provides true mobility in breastpumping, Mamivac offers a great stimulation in its stimulation phase and it also very hygienic with its closed system, preventing the backflow of breastmilk into tubing, which always happens to Medela and Spectra range.
My previous breastpump collection and my reviews on them :
1)Spectra 3 Double Breastpump
- bought from MLO at 2007
- 4 stars out of 5
- A great pump, discreet and very affordable too.
- Suction is very good and adjustable, easy to assemble, easy to disassemble.
- Spare parts are easy to find and comes with complete set, no additional purchase required.
- The downside of this pump would be no battery option.The size its not really problem to me.
2)Avent Isis Manual Breastpump
- brought from a pharmacy in Diamond Complex, Bangi
- 4.5 stars out of 5
- Among the best breastpump i ever use. I heart this pump very much.
- Smooth suction, adjustable, lightweight, very soft suction,it massage the breast and stimulate the let-down..soo heaven using this pump
- Spareparts are very hard to find. If you accidently missing any parts, especially the white star valve which is so tiny and fragile too, you have to head down to Kinderdijk at Sri Hartamas to get the new one.This is the only problem with Avent series..huhuhu
- If you plan to get this pump, i strongly recommend you to purchase AVENT ISIS VIA which comes with VIA system rather than AVENT ISIS alone…
- This one is AVENT ISIS with VIA system. You can convert into normal system anytime you wish.
- VIA is a storage system created by AVENT. VIA does not only function as storage system, but can also converted into feeding bottles and the best part is it is BPA Free!
- This one is AVENT ISIS regular. You can never convert this normal system into VIA system.
- You still can use it with VIA system but it cannot be attached to the pump body.
- you can buy separate VIA container and pour the milk manually into them.Then store the ebm straight away, and when you want to feed your baby, simply exchange the VIA lid with avent standard nipples.Easy peasy..i love the technology
3)Avent IQ Duo
- Bought online from overseas
- 4.5 stars out of 5
- Offers everything that Avent Isis gives, but comes in electric mode DOUBLE or SINGLE..you can set them anytime. What a perfect breastpump ever exist.
- Quiet but not as quiet as Spectra 3
- Feels like your baby is suckling, really mimics baby’s suction
- I love the gentle massage cushion and the suction, my my this is really unbeatable by any breast pump.
- You are in full control of the suction rythm. It has IQ function, it memorizes your puming rythm and repeat it until you change the rythm yourself. And it can recalls your last rythm too! Marvelous!
- Comes with complete set, can change to manual pump aka Avent Isis anytime you like, no extra purchase require.
- This is the best pump i ever used, except for its too bulky..huhuhu.
4)Medela Pump-In-Style Advance
- Bought online from overseas
- 3.5 stars out of 5
- Has dual suction mode which automatically set – Stimulation phase and expression phase.
- I don’t really like the soft-fit shield, it crumpled and eventually hurt my breast, which is really painful.
- I refer to Lactaequip and they suggest me to get Personal Breast shield to replace to soft-fit
- In terms of suction, this pump also is a great pump. Just sit back and the pump will do the rest, no hassle
- Also as good as Avent IQ Duo but the suction is incomparable.Price is more expensive than the IQ Duo
- Also comes in complete set
5)Medela Harmony
- can’t recall where did i bought it from
- 2 stars out of 5
- A manual breastpump
- I dont like the soft fit breast shield..sorry medela…
- Avent Isis is way better than this, so i give it for free to another friend..huhuhu
Another pump that i ever tested (read: exchange experience with other friends who have breast pump that i didn’t own)
Ameda Lactaline – 3 stars out of 5
- Offers everything that Medela PISA has, but comes with cheaper price!
- Closed system, no milk back flow into tubing
- Produce some sounds during operations but not too loud
Spectra 2 – 3.5 stars out of 5
- Suction is really good, but is not as *soft as Avent.
- Bulky – heavier than Spectra 3
- Hospital Grade – suitable for long time usage
Medela FreeStyle – 4 stars out of 5
- Same as PISA but very mobile, the battery was attached to the pump body like a cellphone.
- You can pump while dancing, doing house chores, driving and thousands more..
- Suction is slightly slow than PISA.
- Expensive, itu ajo la..hehehe. But lots of takey breastpump offers kutu scheme so grab it fast!
Medela Lactina – 4 stars out of 5
- This is a hospital grade pump
- suction is very powerful!
- Super expensive ; RM3000++
- I used this pump at hospital. I think this pump only suitable for hospital use..huhuhu

*Soft - in this entry, i used the word SOFT to refer the smooth and sleek suction of the breast pump. Soft here doesn’t mean the suction is weak. Soft here means the suction is very comfort, like massaging your breast rather than forcing the breasts to brings milk out…
The softness level :
Avent > Medela > Spectra
The quiteness level :
Spectra > Avent > Medela
The preference is vary on individu
Some prefer good suction,while the other person may prefer the mobility and easy-to-handle breast pump.
Make sure you know what you really need, and of course budget

Memang Avent tu paling best..yg manual tu mmg cinta hati selamanya kata orang..sayang..ada lagi kat umah ni tak bagi sapa2 pun sbb terlalu masyuk la pump avent isis ni even manual
nak pilih pump ikut bajet je….kalu bajet besar (biasa org kejra macam noj duit banyak) beli mana2 pun boleh
mcm saya ni tak kerja kena la pikir macam hal…kena beli yg ebtul2 ikut kemampuan
tapi pump mahal pun tak semesti best
tgk la Avent isis tu murah je tapi lagi best berbanding yang mahal
Salam.., tgh pening nk beli swing atau isis iq uno. Nk kn start store ebm ni next week ( dh terlambat ni). Swing nmpk ringan. Tp isis iq uno mcm comel jer, blh msuk handbag. Lg satu, pernah pakai avent manual dulu, ok jer tk sakit cuma lenguh tgn mengepam. Ada spectra3 adik ipar punya, ok senyap n tk sakit tp mobility zero, besar n berat. Huhu.
Swing ok tak? Mcm popular jer. Swing ngn isis iq uno electric mn satu better ya? Pls help. Any suggestion?

akak tak boleh nak selit dalam bra macam corong normal
kalau swing mmg boleh
tapi swing ni makan batery la kalau akak guna batery
sama juga UNO pun
cuma UNO bole tukar jadi manual

sebabnya:
saya tak suka freestyle punya soft fit breastshiels..sangat sakit dia tarik boobs saya..lama2 dia crumple pastu hilang shape
avent pulak sbb dia sedap pakai so saya sangat chenta padanya

tapi bagi orang yang berkerja, yg nak kejar masa..mmg freestyle le sesuai
tapi ada kawan saya dah dekat 4 tahun guna avent manual, sekali pump dekat 20oz dia dapat..

sebenarnya ikut orang, ada yg selesa dgn pump yg ini, yg lain pulak tak selesa

akak nak beli freestyle kat ebay bole dapat rm900++ je hehe
salam salwa. wah bertuah awak pernah merasa avent isis iq duo tu. saya dari time pregnant dok berangan nak merasa pakai. tapi tak kesampaian sebab mahal sangat harganya. nak beli cash tak mampu. avent isis manual mmg best. tak dinafikan. suction lembut dan relax. cuma kelemahannya pada saya ialah masa yg diambil utk express susu lambat sbb kena buat sebelah demi sebelah. boss dah sibuk cari time tu. alhamdulillah merasa pakai FS atas jasa baik awak anjurkan kutu tu(dan bagi saya no.1). FS memang memudahkan, tapi memang suction nya tak dapat ditandingi oleh avent.
btw awak beli avent iq duo tu kat mana? berapa harganya time awak beli tu?

Jenjalan kat dunia maya nih, jumpa blog salwa balik, lama x baca
. Kalau based on pengalaman Aja, satu jer…. Salwa x sesuai dgn softfit lah kan makna nyer… And utk kes mcm salwa yg perlu stimlation (bcos of pcos etc.) pump with petal massager works better. Sbb Aja tgk salwa bg good rating utk ameda. Sbb kalau Aja…ameda tuh Aja mmg pernah cuba dpt 12 oz sekali pump tp took longer.
As for avent iq Duo, Aja agreed. Lenguh pegang kepala pump and suction dia lemah gemalai banding medela Swing. Aja cuba dua kali jer iQ Uno then i decided i didnt like it at all…
Mamivac pula mmg ok uk stimulation but much more bulky than spectra3, and no battery options. Avent iq Duo juga no battery option and bulky. 4 kg kalau x silap..betul tak?
As for medela harmony, did you buy them 1st hand? Sbb kalau 2nd hand probably the diaphragm wear off already, that’s the reason suction wasnt up to your expectation, but then again the softfit yg x sesuai la kan
. As for the avent isis… I am a satisfied user too!.. Cuma sadly now when they change to aven bpa-free the whole production was affected. There’s report on leaking during pumping and suction wasnt so good 
Nway, i like both avent manual (manual only- letrik doesnt work for me), and medela harmony, for me suction medela harmony lg kuat dr avent, but avent lg cushy…
Anyway, all pump will work well if you make them work for you kan..insyaAllah, take care dear

Yup, avent isis yg bpa-free mmg ada leaking & suction pun not so good. saya pun dah terkena! saya ada try kawan punya avent manual yg lama, memang superb.
Salam, br2 ni ade pg test satu pam br nama Ardo. Dia mcm Ameda gk cuma digital skit n x de pusing2.Pegi test ngan mbr y dh biasa pakai FS. Dia kate > cpt la banding FS nk dpt let down. Blh reduce time 50% drp guna FS. Cume besar la Ardo ni compare tu FS. n pakai FS agk susah nk kosongkn breast tp Ardo blh.
Ardo compare to Ameda. Ameda ni sharp skit. Ardo blh single, double, manual. Ade jual asing2 spare part tmbhn. Tp y manual x smpi M’sia lg.
Salam, ade sape2 nk Swing 2nd. Sy nk let go sbb nk upgrade double pam tuk ank y br nanti. Under warranty lg. Pam pun dok elok lg.Bukan x suka Swing tp sbb kene tandem nursing nanti. so kene la upgrade pam pun jd double.

salam. bestler bc pasal awk yer review. sy ade 3 pump. 2 unimom dan satu ardo. prnh cuba ardo tue tp lagi selesa ngn unimom. pakai unimom jerla. ingat nak jual ardo 2. unimom best bg sy even harga dia murah dan sensitif. kena hati pakai hati2. kalo nk pakai unimom nie kena ade back up, takut kalo pump buat hal. boleh htr servis, tp take time la kan. warranty 2 years utk all function.

sya memula dulu pakai avent manual gak.. best kan petal massager dia.. love it! then upgrade ke pisa.. sampai skrg utk anak #3 mmg guna pisa lagik.. spectra 3 sya penah gak try kawan punya.. suction ok, cuma berat je laa.. tp pisa ni pon berat gak.. dlm proses utk beli FS plak sebab tak larat nak usung pisa hari2 pi keje.. huhu

Yg mana paling baik antara avent isis iq uno vs ameda dual pumping electric vs medela mini electic plus???
Susu sy xdela meriah sgt tp alhamdulillah masih dpt bf 1st bb sampai umur setahun.
Skrg nk cuba pam lain mungkin pengeluaran susu lbh baik.
